Words cannot express how much CC at Maverick Pet Partners has helped us get through the challenge of living with Sophie’s fragile medical condition. I don’t know how we ever managed before CC came into our lives. When we must go away overnight, I know that Sophie is in the very best of hands with CC. We come home to find a relaxed, happy dog, and a detailed report of how CC’s time with Sophie was spent. There have also been many times that I have called CC for advice when Sophie is having a problem. She has even gotten us emergency appointments with her vet when ours has not been available, and has met us at his office and taken charge in her professional manner in getting Sophie’s cardiologist’s cell phone number for the vet when the cardiologist’s facility was reluctant to give it to the vet. Sophie was hospitalized at Langhorne last year with a severe intestinal illness, and with her advanced heart disease, she was in extremely fragile condition. CC visited Sophie at the hospital and reported back to us on her condition, and made sure that Langhorne was giving Sophie all her heart meds. She knows Sophie’s many medications better than I do. CC at Maverick Pet Partners is not only our pet companion, she has become a member of our family. Thank you CC for always being there for us. We love you dearly.
Four years ago I lost my best friend of 16 years, Shadow. Since then, I have moved and taken on another job allowing little time for a dog. I can’t tell you how sad it was to come home to no best friend. CC and Dave promised they would help me with a new pet. And did they ever mean it! Finally, after a year of searching, I found 9 year old “Clip” (a mixed breed) at the pound. He had been there a year due to a divorced family. I could never ask for a nicer dog. He loves everything in life. A few days ago Clip swallowed a rib bone. As CC and Dave were leaving the state to visit an ailing family member, I approached them and told them what happened. Before I finished explaining, phones were being dialed, autos starting and Clip was on his way to Animerge – an Emergency Veterinary Hospital. I was a wreck, knowing this could very well kill Clip. CC took complete control. Immediately upon arrival, he was rushed for xrays. Thankfully, he chewed the rib to pieces and would be able to pass it. More phone calls to Dave waiting for word, “get rice cooking NOW” which helped coat his stomach for smooth digestion. Who knew? Well they did! As the vet at Animerge spoke, I heard nothing but “He will be o.k.” CC took notes and heard “he has an enlarged liver and should have his thyroid checked.” We will be making a visit to the vet with CC. She has also given Clip an herbal extract to help slow down liver damage. I can’t thank God enough everyday for these wonderful people. I am not ready to loose my new friend; not now or ever and I know with Maverick Pet Partners, Clip will be here for many many years. Thank you CC and Dave. In May of 2010 we found 3 kittens in our back yard that were only 2 weeks old. Being a cat owner but with little to no experience raising kittens, it was a life saver to the kittens that we found CC and Dave. They helped us through 4 hour feedings and made sure they got the right nutrition, socialization and litter training. When my husband and I went away on a pre-scheduled trip, CC and April took the kittens in and kept them warm, safe and fed – and cured one of potentially life threatening diarrhea. We really appreciated the Pet Maverick team’s help and attention! And please spay or neuter your pets!!
I was reluctant to have a dog trainer in my home until I met CC. We had a perfectly well behaved 14 month old English Springer Spaniel until we adopted a 5 month old English Pointer mix. Suddenly, our Springer became territorial. Both dogs immediately adored CC who approached them with tenderness and enthusiasm. She was gentle but firm and they responded happily. Now, my husband and I use come and sit with small treats constantly and have two well-behaved and happy companions. I am forever quoting CC to my dog friends because her advice and explanations make such sense! We still have some skills to learn and are excited to work with CC again!
Last year, I lost my husband and my back reacted by seizing up; therefore, I was unable to walk our dog, Lucy, everyday as my husband had. She started to seem listless and depressed. Lucy’s vet recommended CC. She and Dave have been a godsend. Not only did they take Lucy for walks, but they showered her with affection. Immediately, I saw a change. Lucy was her happy and lively self again.
This summer I had Maverick Pet Partners stay with Lucy and my cat Milo for four days while I took a short trip. Both Lucy and Milo were in tremendous spirits when I returned due to the thoughtful and tender care they had received.
Besides walking Lucy, CC has also recommended a better leash, toys, and food for Lucy. Furthermore, she has helped my daughter train her rescue dog who had suffered much neglect.
My four legged companions are happier with the addition of Maverick Pet Partners to our lives which has made my life easier and helped me to find a measure of contentment.
We met CC and Dave over a year ago when we adopted a SAVE puppy and needed help giving the puppy some exercise while we were at work. I was immediately impressed with their “whole puppy” approach. We had three other dogs at the time, and we have always been concerned about nutrition and toxins around our dogs, and I was thrilled to know that CC and Dave shared these concerns. Our dogs got to know and love both of them quickly, and our puppy was thrilled with her additional exercise and attention. We also appreciated having CC and Dave’s observations about our whole pack on a daily basis.
A year passed and we brought home another SAVE puppy. Dave walked our two babies and taught them great leash skills.
When our first SAVE dog started experiencing anxiety issues recently, CC and Dave were my first (and only) call. They had a good idea of what the problem was and what to do. This was a great comfort to us. They came and spent an initial two hours refining their assessment of the problem, giving my whole family an idea of what to do, and giving us lots of optimism and support. Their professionalism, vast knowledge and experience, compassion, understanding, and patience are immediately apparent and are a great asset to us.
We can’t recommend CC and Dave highly enough, and we can’t say enough good things about them!
We would not trust anyone else except CC and Dave with our babies Simba and Bella. We cannot thank them enough for being part of our lives, they are so much more than our Pet Partners. They go above and beyond in everything they do and most importantly Simba and Bella love them so very much!
CC and Dave have truly partnered with us to raise a perfectly healthy, happy, well-trained, and beautifully-groomed Springer Spaniel. There have been times of crisis when Maverick Pet Partners have stepped in immediately with expert advice that goes well-beyond what one would expect. When we are away, we can relax knowing that he is under the best care possible and receiving lots of play-time and exercise, unlike some bad experiences our first dog had to endure. From referring the right vet to the best groomer and pet photographer, they always guide us in the right direction whenever there is a question. As President of Focus on Homeless Animals (FOHA), I am pleased to write this testimonial in support of Maverick Pet Partners. CC Cartier and Dave Irmiter adopted their beloved Anouk through our organization. Anouk, a giant black beautiful dog sitting in a pound, neglected, underweight, and smelly as she was found in a swamp, was deserving of a second chance at life. CC and Dave gave her that chance.
CC Cartier and Dave Irmiter have generously offered their time, talents, skills, and knowledge to benefit the mission of our organization, which is to provide a safe haven for homeless animals at risk of being euthanized. Once we remove the dogs from danger, we then proceed to provide medical care, altering and emergency services, if needed. We also provide behavioral interventions prior to adoption and after adoption if needed, in order to make their adoption a success. That is where CC Cartier, CPDT-KA steps in to assist Focus on Homeless Animals.
Maverick Pet Partners has expanded our reach so that our organization can effectively provide pet owners with solutions to issues they may arise living with their newly adopted pet. After adopting a pet from our organization that has been evaluated for temperament, sociability, and medical health, some pets will adjust to their new home. However, others may start to exhibit unwanted behaviors for various reasons. When that happens, we rely on Maverick Pet Partners to work with our clients. This outreach is crucial to our pet-retention goals and our desire to provide education in the area of humane positive reinforcement, of which CC Cartier is an advocate and practitioner. We have provided crucial behavioral support for many adopters as a result of our association with Maverick Pet Partners.
CC has worked with our adopters’ pets on behavior modification, separation anxiety, loose leash walking, barking, fear anxiety, house soiling, reactivity, shyness and humane positive reinforcement techniques. CC’s enthusiasm and passion for what she does is infectious and results in compliance on the part of our adopters to implement the modern, relationship enhancing, science-based techniques presented to them, resulting in positive outcomes.
CC’s knowledge of canine nutrition is another benefit to our adopters who are quickly learning that not all pet foods are created equal. With CC’s guidance, pet parents can enlist CC’s services to help them make better food choices for their pets. Many dogs face issues as dry skin, hot spots, food allergies, irritable bowel, and serious internal disorders or diseases that may require a specialized eating plan to build a stronger immune system or deal with an arthritic condition. With an eloquence and talent for teaching people, CC engages our clients with information that empowers them to be a proactive participant in their dog’s health and longevity.
CC’s commitment to help pet parents achieve better communication with their canines includes her deep understanding of how dogs learn. CC’s philosophy meshes with ours in that she believes in a holistic approach to caring for your pet. Having a conversation with CC about any of these issues is enjoyable, enlightening, and never boring.
Dave Irmiter who we consider our Website Guru, has generously given endless hours of his time and expertise to help reconstruct our website. Dave recently donated many hours of his time to advertise our Paws in the Park Dog Walk/Pet Fair and facilitated access to the various registration forms in an easy to follow format. Dave knew immediately what needed to be done and was efficient at accomplishing the task at hand. We want to take this opportunity to thank CC and Dave for providing support for our Paws in the Park Dog Walk/Fair event. CC Cartier of Maverick Pet Partners has been a dedicated volunteer to SAVE for years. CC’s force-free training methods have effectively helped many of our adopters attain happy relationships with their dogs. She is compassionate and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her to our adopters!
Forget what you’ve seen on TV– CC Cartier is the real deal. Unlike so many self- proclaimed “dog trainers,” CC is a certified CPDT-KA, who specializes in canine behavior consulting. She is a proponent of positive training and progressive pet care, and has a wealth of knowledge ranging from helping to appease my puppy’s isolation distress to pet safety to holistic nutrition.
Maverick Pet Partners is more than just a business. CC is a wonderful person who genuinely cares for her clients (and when I say clients, I’m referring to our canine friends as well as their pet parents). She believes that our dogs are invaluable members of our families, and knows each and every one of her clients’ unique personalities. She is extremely generous with her time, and even accompanied my puppy and me to an hour and a half= long vet visit.
